The controversy over the allegations by Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan against the Senate President Godswill Obot Akpabio and her suspension from the Red Chamber has taken a a new dimension.
This is because on Tuesday March 11, 2025, the suspended Kogi Central lawmaker took her case to the global stage.
At the Women Parliamentary session held at the Inter-Parliamentary Union meeting (IPU) at the United Nations in New York, Senator Natasha is seeking justice against the intervention of global institutions.
Senator Natasha is asking for justice over what she described as injustice meted out on her, as she described the suspension as “iilegal”, and evidence of what women face in Nigeria.
However, After her speech, the suspended Lawmaker expressed worry about her security, claiming that there are indication that she may be held against her will in New York for speaking up on the issues at the global event by “the powers that be” from Nigeria.
