North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has approved the broadcast of Premier League matches in the country for the first time, but only after heavy state editing.
The decision comes with a series of restrictions aimed at aligning the broadcasts with the nation’s political and cultural policies.
According to reports, the matches will not be aired Live and will be cut to 60 minutes, with all English tests and advertisements replaced by state approved graphics.

Furthermore, any scene featuring South Korean players or LGBTQ+ symbols will be removed before airing.
Analysts believe this move is part of North Korea’s effort to control exposure to foreign media while satisfying growing curiosity among citizens about global sports.
However, the extent of censorship highlights the regime’s continued tight grip on continental imports and information flow.
