Federal House of Representatives has lambasted Nigeria security intelligence system and the president of the federal republic for not helping out on the issues of high rise of insecurity across the country.

The lawmakers however Insisted that security agencies seem to have run out of ideas to halt the bloodshed and incessant millings bedevilling NIGERIA.

A vote of no confidence was therefore passed on security agencies and this led to an emergency call on President Buhari to take full responsibility for the failure of security agents.

The spark of debate was anchored on the highly agitated and particularly saddened situation NIGERIANs now see themselves by these reoccurring incidents of attack by hoodlums and view the monday attack on the facilities of the Nigerian Railway Corporation, as one attack too many.

The debate did not go down well the lawmakers thereby stating the obvious below:

Leading the debate, Giwa decried the continuous siege on different communities in Kaduna State.

He said in less than a month, over 100 people have been killed, hundreds abducted, thousands displaced and properties worth hundreds of millions destroyed.

Leader of the House, Alhassan Ado Doguwa, said he was short of words to defend the government’s failure.

He said: “When things like this continue on a daily basis, those of us who are representative of government become speechless. We become speechless in defending the actions of government”

Doguwa also called for Nigerians to be allowed to carry firearms to protect themselves.

A member of the House, Tajudeen Abbas, said there may be more to what was happening in Kaduna State.

“A situation where the airport, railway, the highway and communities are attacked all within one week goes to say a lot. Our security agencies are really failing and people are getting more and more hopeless,” he said.

Another lawmaker, Aminu Suleiman, said the House should take a more drastic step since its previous resolutions have not had the desired effect.

“If our resolutions are not working, is it not possible to close this chamber and join ASUU and say we are not resuming here until the Commander-in-Chief performs his duties?

“We have the power to drive the process and ensure that the President takes responsibility. It will be difficult to go back and tell our people that we have debated this and passed resolutions. Yes, we have passed resolutions.

“But have they addressed the situation? We must do something dramatic and serious to show our people that we are serious because when a revolution starts, some of the innocent ones may be the victims.

“I pray that we don’t get to that point and for that not to happen, we must rise and do the needful.”

The house adjourned plenary to a new date.

While reacting, Kaduna State Governor Mallam Nasir El-Rufai said more people are being killed in the Northwest than in the Northeast.

The governor who concluded that Monday night’s attack on the Abuja-Kaduna train was collaboration between bandits and Boko Haram, insisted that more Nigerians were getting killed, displaced in the Northeast.

The governor said he does not believe any innocent person could be in the forests, hence his call for air and ground bombing of the forests, as well as standby ground troops to kill anyone who escapes from the bush.

Besides, the governor said he would be asking President Buhari for the establishment of a Theatre Command in the Northwest, saying the problems of banditry and terrorism in the Northeast far outweigh what has been seen in the Northeast.

He said: “With the declaration by the Federal High Court that these bandits are terrorists, nothing stops the military, the police and other security agencies from taking extreme actions to terminate these bandits without prejudice. This is what we have been pushing for for the past two years and I hope to see Mr. President today Saturday 2-04-2022 and I intend to present that to him.

“Now, we are seeing collaboration between bandits and Biko Haram, as we saw in the bombing of the tracks of the Abuja-Kaduna rail line.”

He spoke of plans suggest solutions to the security challenges at his scheduled meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari today Saturday 2-04-2022.

El RUFIA has in clear terms renewed his call that SECURITY FORCES SHOULD BOMB BANDITS OUT OF EXISTENCE.

While fielding questions by 9News Nigeria correspodent, the District Head of Fatika, Malam Nuhu Umar, advised the government to use technology to track the terrorists and eliminate them.

In addition, Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association representative, Yushau Abdulkarim, expressed support for government in whatever action it planned to take to tackle security challenges.

NIGERIANs are wondering whose responsibility it is to protect the country from incessant attacks and killings while calling on PRESIDENT BUHARI to address the situation.

Our readers can feel free to air their views and comment on the possible ways to curb insecurity in the land before it becomes a norm in the society.
