Despite the ban on public procession in Plateau state, members of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) on tuesday came out in their numbers for a soldarity protest with the striking Academic Staff Union of the University (ASUU).
9NewsNigeria Correspondent reports that Labour members, Civil Society groups and other unions gathered under the Secretariat junction flyover bridge in Jos as early as 8 :00 am for solidarity protest.
There was high presence of security operatives in the city over the protest organised by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC).
Security operatives including the Police and others were at the venue to prevent breach or attack on the protesters by thugs.
ASUU had on February 14, 2022 shut all public Universities and commenced its ongoing strike, after the Federal government failed to meet their demands.
It could be recalled that the Plateau state government has said the ban on public processions in the state is still in force.
