Why I Didn’t Become Rivers State Governor, Says Ex-militant, Asari Dokubo

Ex- Militant of the Niger Delta Region, Asari Mujahid Dokubo spoke live on Facebook in the early hours of yesterday about Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and other sociopolitical issues.

“I failed after spending 6 years in the university studying law,” Alhaji Asari Mujahid Dokubo said. Later, the Ijaw people gave me a platform, and as soon as I used it, I improved. I would have long since become a governor if I had taken Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s advice at the time.

Alhaji Asari Mujahid Dokubo continued, “Many people became my mortal enemies when I started getting better after being helped by the Ijaw nation. I received several political job offers. Former governor Odili did everything possible to entice me. I would have long since become a senator if I had taken his advice.

Alhaji Asari Mujahid Dokubo reiterated, “I would have vanished into oblivion if the Ijaw nation had not assisted me after failing in the university. My father would have left me a small inheritance, but that never happened.

Alhaji Asari Mujahid Dokubo concluded by saying, I said, “I told all those politicians then that it was the street and creeks that made me; not my father’s house. That was why I chose not to go into politics.”
