The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has deployed 1,600 corps members to Edo, for the 2025 Batch ‘B’ Stream I orientation programme, scheduled to commence nationwide on Tuesday, July 29.
Dr Frances Ben-Ushie, state Coordinator of the corps, announced this in a statement issued on Friday in Benin.
Ben-Ushie also announced that the formal opening and swearing-in ceremony, would take place on Aug. 1.
According to her, the programme will be hosted at the permanent orientation camp, located opposite the Igbinedion University, Okada.
“The state governor, Sen. Monday Okpebholo, is expected to declare the orientation course open, while the Chief Judge of Edo will administer the oath of allegiance to the corps members during the ceremony.”
The coordinator expressed gratitude to the people of the state for their longstanding support for corps members.
”We sincerely appreciate the good people of Edo for their favourable disposition to corps members over the years.
“We further solicit the usual assistance in making the one-year mandatory national service a memorable one for the incoming corps members,” she added.
