Chelsea have suffered a fresh blow as Cole Palmer had been ruled out for up to three weeks due to a persistence groin injury.
The England International, who has been pivotal for the Blues since his arrival, had been managing the problem but was forced to withdraw early in a recent clash after the discomfort worsened.
Palmer absence comes at a crucial point in the season, with Chelsea facing tough fixtures domestically and in Europe.
Manager Enzo Maresca will now have to reshuffling his attack as the team copes without their creative spark.
Palmer, who initially suffered the injury during pre-season, was left out of Chelsea’s win over Lincoln in midweek as the club’s medicals staff met with Maresca and his coaching team to agree on player’s discovery schedule.

Discussing Palmer’s ongoing injury problems, Maresca said that the 23-year-old would be rested with no plans for him to undergo surgery.
“We decided to rest him for the next two weeks until the next international break.
“We’ll see with that rest whether he can be 100 percent fit after the international break”, he said
