Owerri (9News Nigeria) – Following the provision of vehicles to Civil Servants to boost their work efficiency, Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu (Samdaddy) has commended the administration of Governor Hope Uzodinma for the gesture, describing it as one of the major achievements of a listening government.
In a release by his Media Adviser, Ikenna Onuoha and made available to newsmen in Owerri, the capital of Imo State, Senator Anyanwu expressed joy that Civil Servants in the state would be rated above their counterparts in neighbouring states, owing to the fact that Governor Uzodinma was willing to improve their wellbeing.
He suggested that aside from the provision of vehicles, the government should ensure prompt payment of their salaries and pensions to encourage them to put in their best to avoid indulging themselves in corruption.
Senator Anyanwu further urged the APC led administration to adopt the idea of providing low cost housing for civil servants, pointing out that at the end of every month, a certain percentage of amount would be deducted from their salaries without affecting their financial status.
According to him, the idea will not only boost their morale and improve work efficiency, but would make them proud owners of buildings at the end of their service year.
He said that in as much as he does not belong to the same political party with Governor Uzodinma, he would not hesitate to advise the government and commend her when necessary since the major aim of every leader was to build the state, while calling on those criticizing government in a destructive way to shelve their swords.
