🟢 ENDORSEMENT AND COUNTER ENDORSEMENT CANNOT MAKE AN ELECTION
A topmost Guber contender in Imo State Nigeria, Chief Charles Orie has called on Ndi Imo to focus their political energy on selecting the best Governorship aspirant to advance the state to a new level of development, human capacity building and massive industrisation, from what the incumbent Governor, His Excellency Hope Uzodinma CON has set in place for the betterment of the generality of Ndi Imo.
Orie told 9News in an exclusive interview that any government without a stable political ideology, target driving policies, agro revolution and sustainable democratic settings will find it very difficult to develop the economical hub and technological balance with the developed states.
Charles Orie noted with mixed feelings the way politics is played in this clime , stating that political ideologies have to be stable enough to advance democratic tenets and settings across party lines. He added that voters should be protected and elections conducted freely against the do or die syndrome bedevilling the space.
Orie added that endorsement and counter endorsement cannot make election otherwise voters decides the election through an organized voting process established by rule of law. He therefore called on those endorsing and counter endorsing to go get their voting power which is the PVC and align with election guidelines.
In his words, “I know that party primaries will come first to produce party flag bearers and that is the most important for now. “I am convinced I have enormous supporters at the grassroots calling on me to serve, I’ll not disappoint Ndi Imo..If given the mandate to become the next Governor”.
This assertion is based on Charles Orie’s ability, wide leadership kowledge, administrative skills, capability and wide acceptability across all zones and rural communities to aspire for Imo Governorship election for 2027 , 9News reports .
Akuatuegwu Ndigbo added that Imolites are well empowered and wise to cast their votes to connect to the national grid by featuring competence, integrity , capacity and wide reach than throwing away votes on mere sympathy grounds. “I will make Imo proud, Charles reassured the populace.
As the grass in the political field therefore gets greener in waiting for the Guber election and primaries, Chief Charles Orie Akuatuegwu, has called for thorough examination of candidates to bring on board a successor governor that will develop the state and not to cast votes on mere sentiments and unrealisable permutations.
He further stressed the need for a sustainable democracy and due process in the entire political setting as it concerns Imo politics, noting that Governor Hope Uzodinma’s administration is working assiduously to restore the lost dignity and position Imo at an enviable standpoint.
Orie hinted that elections are scheduled for the voters to choose the best candidate through a legitimate voting process and electoral guidelines made available by the election umpire, INEC.
He added that haven known that democracy is multidimensional , It is based both on the centrality of the Constitution (laws and policies) , and democratic values and human rights. Orie therefore call for mutual understanding and love for one another mostly at the decision levels.
In continuation of the exclusive chat with 9News Nigeria, Charles Orie reiterated his resolve to consolidate on the gains of quality leadership set in place by His Excellency Governor Hope Uzodinma CON, to take Imo state to another height of rapid advancement and empowerment.
Orie added that IMO economic hub will surely have a rapid upgrade through his policy vision and witty ideology on economic plan and massive generation of revenue to boost the revenue base for the development of Imo State.
He added that , Imo is too large for an aspirant Or an individual to decide the dictate of all Imolites as it is been rumoured but assured of an all -inclusive governance at his time as governor.
Speaking on technology, Orie told 9News Nigeria that recent day technology will attract a lot of speedy development in Imo state if well harnessed, established and duly sustained. He therefore promised Imolites of his resolve to capture a global advancement through super technology service plan across the state.
On employment, Charles Orie took his time to x-ray reasons for unemployment ravaging the society and proffered captivating solution policies to address such decadence in Imo. The policy plan on employment will eradicate Youth restiveness and crime control across the state.
He talked on revamping moribund industries, firms and factories to an international standard aimed at attracting investors to develop the sector and boost development in the State same as his policy on Oil and Gas as captured by 9News Nigeria.
However, noting that security challenge is a global trend , Orie assured of a free crime Imo state through robust concerted efforts, intelligence gathering, massive surveillance, funding of personnel to assist the police, DSS, Air Force, NPF and allied security agencies to eradicate crime and chase insecurity away from Imo. This can be achievable with the support of Ndi Imo, Charles Orie hinted.
Civil Service are to be well maintained and respected and allowances due for workers cannot be toiled with or mismanaged coupled with continuous payments of pension and gratuity to retirees.
He spoke widely on road rehabilitation and maintenance, health-care, housing, education , environment and power generation and promised to establish rapid infrastructural growth in Imo to consolidate with the existing development brought by Governor Uzodinma.
It is important to note that Imo has arable soil unlike some states in the South East and therefore revamping the agricultural sector will be the most priority item of his administration, if given the chance to become governor.
The leading Guber aspirant Orie frowned at series of endorsements publications of his candidature flying here and there and call for caution while working out plans to secure his ticket. He appreciated his supporters across all zones and rural communities in the state and requested for an alignment to the rules of politics and elections procedure. Orie smiled.
Nothing further with dismay the challenges being faced by Imo state Journalists and media handlers across online platforms, Charles Orie called for an integration of practitioners into his administration with a view of placing the fourth estate of the realm as very important and delicate. He however charged journalists and social media handlers to use their platforms to educate, enlighten, entertain the public and place serious checks on government.
In developed countries, freedom of press is paramount and no government has the right to gag the press , Charles Orie hinted.
In his overall reflection on Nigeria’s brand of democratic settings as it affects Imo state, Orie stated that democratic tenets be included and cannot be limited to the few practices applicable by government.
The people should be allowed to vote their choice of candidates and leaders but in doing so, buying of votes and election thuggery are bygone practices because of its deminishing returns against true democracy.
He said he’s not desperate to govern Ndi Imo but beckoning on every conscious and dedicated Imolite to see some quality reasons to support his aspiration to become Imo Governor 2027.
He added that many theorists insist that true democracy is an exercise in futility because democracy is abstraction and painful, such a theoretical imbalance cannot be same when a people oriented Governor assume office to serve his/her people to protect and defend the democratic mandate and desire of the people.
It cannot be same also with a technocrat, a humanist, a widely connected , peace lover, development driven leader and administrator.
“If voted to power as Imo Governor, I will respect the civil and political rights of all Imolites as captured in chapter IV of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 as amended and the African charter on Human and People’s right, 1981, as ratified, applicable and justiciable in Nigeria. Charles Orie reassured Imolites.
