The Nigeria’s U-17 Men’s National team, the Golden Eaglets on Saturday, recorded a 4 -2 victory against their counterparts, Ghana.
The Golden Eaglets took to the pitch against Ghana in thei qualification campaign for 2023 Africa U-17 CUP of Nations (AFCON) In their opening group game of 2022 West Africa Football Union (WAFU) age grade tournament, the team led by former International, Nduka Ugbade were dominant from start to finish.
The Golden Eaglets battled the Black Starlets at Cape Coast Stadium in Ghana and came out victorious.
The Eaglets took the lead as early as 12 minute through Emmanuel Michael, the second goal came in 43rd minute by Precious Williams and just after the start of the halftime break, Jubril Azeez scored the third goal for the Eaglets.
AbdulRazak Salifu pulled one back for the Black Starlets in 58th minute, In 78th minute, Nigeria’s Light Ike scored a brilliant goal to secure the winning and in 88th minute, The Black Starlets pulled one back as Collin Agyemang converted a penalty for the Black Starlets.
The game ended 4-2 in favor of the Golden Eaglets.
The Eaglets were on top of their game as they played according to instructions, However, it was a bit of revenge for Nigeria, after losing the 2022 FIFA World Cup ticket to Ghana in Abuja early this year.
