IMO HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY HAILS GOVERNOR UZODIMMA FOR IMPLEMENTING 100% FINANCIAL AUTONOMY FOR IMO STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY

Today in the State House of ASSEMBLY imo state NIGERIA, Distingushed members made good Presentations to catch up with the recent developmental issues to cushion the effects of governance.

Our correspondent in Owerri reports that
today, thursday 24 June 2021, Sen Hope Uzodimma, the Executive Governor of Imo state took it upon himself to show examplary leadership by Implementing 100 percent financial autonomy for Imo State House of Assembly . This is Victory for Democracy.

This is with the directives of President Muhammadu Buhari and in-line with section 121 (3) of the 1999 constitution of Nigeria, as amended and Executive Order 10 mandates all the 36 states governors to Implement fully the financial autonomy for state legislators since 2018.

By this , Imo State House of Assembly are now to be paid directly for the benefit of the legislators and the management of the House.

This also allows the State Houses of Assembly to operate like the National Assembly, because the National Assembly does not get its budget from the Executive.”

THE BILL WAS PRESENTED BY IMO MAJORITY LEADER, HON KANAYO ONYEMAECHI TODAY JUNE 24, 2021 ON THE FLOOR OF THE HOUSE.
