
Suspected herdsmen have attacked Farin Dutse, a community in Nasarawa Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, killing and injuring unknown number of residents.
Assailants who invaded the community on Monday also burnt down some houses, displacing and rendering many residents homeless.
A resident identified as Danlami Irimiya, who confirmed the incident said they were attacked in the early hours of Monday March 10, 2025, around 3:00am
“The fight started yesterday (Sunday) over a Mango tree which a Fulani herdsman was cutting down for his cows.
Residents of the community, however, approached him to stop, but he got angry after heated argument and stabbed one person to death.
“So this morning he mobilized his kinsmen to invade the community while we were deep in sleep. Many has been killed and houses burnt”, he said.
He revealed that residents of the community mobilized and visited the Fulani huts following the killing on Sunday and burnt it down in anger.
Irimiya, who condemned the dastardly attack, called on the appropriate authorities to urgently intervene.
When contacted, the state’s Police Command while confirming the incident, however said information on the attack is sketchy.
