The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has released dedicated emergency contact numbers for all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The initiative, announced today, aims to provide Nigerians with direct access to police divisions, area commands, and Police Public Relations Officers (PPROs) in their respective states.
According to the NPF, this measure is expected to improve response times to distress calls, enable swift crime reporting, and foster better coordination between security agencies and the public.

Speaking on the development, a senior police official emphasized the importance of timely communication in tackling insecurity.
In Lagos State, the police command has taken additional steps by introducing permanent contact numbers for all divisional police stations.
This ensures continuity in communication, even when officers are reassigned.
Similarly, in Adamawa State, the police have published a comprehensive list of emergency hotlines covering all 21 local government areas.
Nigerians are encouraged to take note of the emergency numbers for their respective states and use them to report crimes, emergencies, or suspicious activities.
The full list of police contact numbers is available on the official Nigeria Police Force website and social media platforms.
