THE Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been named Humanitarians of the year at a glitzy award.
Harry, 41, and Meghan, 44, jetted to New York to accept the gong, which recognized their efforts in mental health advocacy, on Thursday.
The couple appeared arm-in-arm as they were announced as Project Healthy Minds’ Humanitarians of the year at glam awards.
They were celebrated at the non profit’s World Mental Health Day Gala in a flashy ceremony held at Spring Studios.
The Duke and Duchess were awarded the accolade for their work in building a safer digital world for families and young people. It was also awarded due the pair’s extensive global mental health work.
Speaking on stage at the bash, Meg spoke of their children, Archie, 6, and Lillibet, 4, before warning of the dangers of social media.
She said: “Our children, Archie and Lili are just six and four years old. Luckily still too young for social media, but we know that day is coming.
“Like so many parents, we think constantly about how to embrace technology’s benefits, while safeguarding against dangers.
“That hopeful intention of separation is rapidly becoming impossible”. Harry added:”This is pivotal moment in our collective mission to protect children and support families in a digital age”.
Alongside Meghan, Prince Harry co-founded The Archewell Foundation in 2020 with a mission to “show up, and do good”.
Through the foundation, they established The Parent’s Network in 2023.
