- REVEALS HIS INTENTION TO CONTEST FOR THE STATE ASSEMBLY ELECTION
The founder “Save the Future” movement, Hon. Chidiebere Ibemeka (Okwuluoka Enugwu-Ukwu na Umunri) has officially made known his intention to contest in the upcoming state assembly election under the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
Hon. Ibemeka made this revelation on Thursday 10th February 2022, when he played host to the eight (8) APGA ward chairmen in Njikoka 1 Constituency at his residence in Enugwu-Ukwu as part of his consultations towards his proposed contest.
According to him, his desire to contest the election is borne out of his passion for good governance, quality representation, initiation of impactful bills and motions and his determination to impact lives as exemplified by his numerous philanthropic gestures.
He stated that it was time to give the experienced youths in the party the opportunity to contribute their quota to the advancement of the constituency.
Hon. Ibemeka added that if given the mandate to fly the party’s flag in the election next year he would join hands with the stakeholders and other members of the party to make sure that the party triumphs in the general election.
“Lawmaking has taken a new dimension and only those with the requisite skills and knowledge should represent the Constituency. I’ve been an integral part of the system and I am well aware of the plight of our constituents. If i finally win the election, I’ll utilize my exposure in the public service over the years as well as my extensive networking to highlight these needs to the appropriate authorities and also propose bills that will add value to our people through creative policies”, he said.
Responding, the Ward Chairmen recognised his enormous contributions towards the political party especially in ensuring her resounding victory in the last gubernatorial election, and pledged to ensure that the best candidate emerges.
