Following the excessive waterflow from a river that led to flooding in many parts of Maiduguri, the water flow has started retreating.
This is confirmed on Tuesday evening from residents of Fori and Aji-Alari, two closest communities to the source of the river.
Musa Ibrahim, one of the residents in Fori said that the water started retreating around 3:00PM.
”The water has started retreating and about 15 meters had so far gone,” he said.
Also, our reporter who visited some locations in the two areas confirmed this development.
While many residents in the area whose houses were submerged by the water in the earliest hours of Tuesday, and have evacuated, many around the area are still residing.
