The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Gombe State Council, has commended Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya for his outstanding leadership and vision.
The Council praised Yahaya’s efforts in transforming the state’s healthcare infrastructure and services, as well as security.
This is following the state government’s truimp at the recent Primary Health Care Leadership Challenge award ceremony in Abuja where they emerge as second best state on primary health care delivery in the Northeastern region of Nigeria.
According to the Council’s Chairman, Faruk Muazu Gombe, the awards are a testament to the government’s commitment to maintaining peace, security, and healthcare excellence in Gombe State.
“His dedication to ensuring quality healthcare is accessible to all, regardless of location or status, and his commitment to security, which has made Gombe State a sanctuary for individuals fleeing insecurity in neighboring regions, are truly commendable,” Muazu said.
Similarly, the state governor received the ‘Security Role Model Governor of the Year’ 2024 award from People’s Security Monitor.
Additionally, Gombe State emerged as the Most Innovative State in Primary Health Care (PHC) and the second-best state in PHC delivery in the Northeast subregion, which came with a $400,000 reward.
While congratulating the governor and people of Gombe, the union expressed confidence that these awards will spur the governor to continue his good work and strive for even greater heights.
