
A grief stricken Nigerian woman, Lydia Imie Ogbejiele, has narrated how she narrowly escaped death in the hands of her husband after he allegedly killed her 63-year-old mother in Canada.
The incident occurred on July 1,’ 2025 in Sudbury, Ontario .
According to the Greater Sudbury Police, the suspect, Lucky Ogbejiele, stabbed his mother-in-law to death and attacked his wife, leaving her with serious but not life threatening injuries.
Their two children were at home at the time of the incident, but not physically injured.
The suspect, who fled the scene, was arrested the following day in a wooden area with injuries that appear to be self-inficted.
The accused remained at Health Sciences North after making an appearance in court.
The mother of two narrated her ordeal in a GoFundMe account set to raise money for repatriating her mother’s remains to Nigeria for burial. The campaign has currently raised over $19,000.
