The Special Adviser/General Manager of Owerri Capital Development Authority, OCDA, Engr. Francis Chukwu,has issued a seven(7) days quit notice to occupants of green verge area at Control junction Owerri who turned the place to a motorparks and put up shanties.
He gave the order on Thursday when he interfaced with some of the occupants whom he gathered to address at the popular junction.
While stressingthat the Shared Prosperity Administration of Governor Hope Uzodimma operates with human face, he however frowned at the way people are taking the Government for granted by defacing the environment, thereby causing health hazards and traffic congestion to the people.
The pragmatic and workaholic General Manager reemphasized that his mandate is to sanitize and restore the master plan of the metropolis as well as to create an investment friendly environment, as he pleaded with them to obey the directive accordingly.
One of the occupants Mr. Iwuchukwu,admired the OCDA boss for showcasing human face in the discharge of his duties,why promising that they will endeavour to leave on or before the seven(7) days expiration.
In the same development, Engr. Chukwu addressed tricycle operators otherwise known as Keke at Control junction, prohibiting them from operating at the axis,as anyone found flouting the order will have their motorbike impounded by the Agency.
