President Bola Tinubu addresses Nigerians in his first presidential chat since assuming office on Monday night.
According to a statement by presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga, the broadcast is airing at 9 p.m. on the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN).
During the chat, President Tinubu is emphasized his decision to remove fuel subsidies, stating that he has no regrets about the policy.
He describes the move as essential for securing Nigeria’s economic future.
“I am not regretting removing the subsidy,” Tinubu is saying during the chat.
The subsidy removal, announced shortly after Tinubu assumed office, is remaining a focal point of public discourse, with supporters hailing it as a bold economic reform and critics expressing concerns about its immediate impact on Nigerians.
