Bayern Munich manager, Carlo Ancelotti, feels Chelsea have made an inspiring signing in bringing Alvaro Morata to Stamford Bridge.
Ancelotti knows Morata well having been coach of Real Madrid, although he didn’t play him regularly.
He said, “Morata is a fantastic young striker. I think Chelsea have a really good signing because he is a player that can help the team to be better.”
He added, “He is a complete striker and can play in different positions.
”In my time at Real Madrid he played in the centre of the attack and sometimes on the side. He is a striker that works a lot for the team,” Ancelotti said.
Bayern’s new loan signing, James Rodriguez also played with him at the Bernabeu and added: “I think he is an amazing player, he will do very well with Chelsea. With the minutes he had at Real Madrid, he did amazing things. I wish him very well.” He concluded.
The Blues have landed Morata for an initial £58m fee which could rise to £70m, and the Spain international has been earmarked to replace the outgoing Diego Costa as first-choice striker.
Ancelotti fears Chelsea will put up a great challenge for Champions League title for 2017/2018 season.
