Super Eagles and Sivasspor winger, Ahmed Musa, has called on the government to intervene in the inhabitants of Plateau State in Nigeria.
Musa, 31, was born in the capital city of Plateau State, Jos, where he began his football career before joining Kano Pillars on loan in 2009/2010 sessions.
The former Leicester City forward made his debut against Madagascar under the tutelage bof the then coach, Augustine Eguaveon. He has gone on to play108 games for the Green and Whites, scoring sixteen goals.
Musa, a native of Jos, the former CSKA Moscow forward has cried out for the unity of the inhabitants of the state after several killings occurring in recent times.
In recent, several villages have been burnt and wiped out in what looks to be battle of one religious extreme against another.
The former Kano Pillars ‘hitman’ took to his media page to plead with the government of the state and the country as a whole to intervene to stop bloodshed of innocent people.
“Dear Plateau family and Nigerians as a whole, our dear state is hurting, and we need to come together. The fights, the killings, it’s too much. We are all one big family, no matter our religion.
“Most families in Plateau have both Christian and Muslims. We should be celebrating our differences, not fighting because of them.
“Let’s ask our leaders to focus on what really matters, keeping us safe and bringing back the peace we once had. Plateau used to be known as Home of Peace and Tourism. We want it back.
“Let stand side by side, no matter our religion. Hold hands, pray and ask for peace.
Musa who is a devoted Muslim urged believers of both religions to come together and celebrate their differences, rather than allow them to cause a rift between both parties.
